Major Bust in Davangere: Seven Arrested for Drug Trafficking and Tiger Claw Trade
Davangere, Dec. 09: In a significant operation, the CEN Police of Davangere apprehended seven individuals hailing from Rajasthan on charges of illicit drug trafficking and the sale of tiger claws. The arrests were made as part of a coordinated effort between the Davangere and Bengaluru police.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Ramesh Kumar (40), M.P. Lokesh (41), Karthik (32), Ram Ratan (30), Sunil Kumar (40), and Ashok Kumar (50). Acting on credible information, the police conducted a raid at a residence in Basaveshveshwara Nagar in Bengaluru, leading to the successful apprehension of the accused.
During the operation, law enforcement officers seized 49 grams of narcotics, six tiger claws, four mobile phones, and a vehicle believed to be used in the commission of the crimes. The accused individuals were found to be residing in R.M.C. Link Road, Vinobhanagar in Davangere city, as well as Basaveshveshwara Nagar in Bengaluru.
Inspector Prasad of the Davangere CEN Police Station spearheaded the raid. Superintendent of Police, Uma Prashanth, commended the personnel involved in the operation for their swift and effective response.
